Midweek Connect

WEDNESDAYS
RESUMES JAN. 24

( Jan. 17 was canceled
due to weather.)

We all want to be in a place “where everybody knows your name.” But we also want to know more about the God who loves us and how we can follow Him. That’s what’s happening at First Church on Wednesday nights—a place to connect with others and with God.

DINNER

THE COMMUNITY DINNER is served Wednesdays, from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., in Keith Jones Hall, and is both tasty and nutritious. Cost is $5 for one, or $10 for a family. You don’t need to register—just come!

THE MENU for Wednesday, January 24, features Lynn's Famous Meatloaf, green beans, mashed potatoes, salad, brownies, and a kids’ meal as well.

WEDNESDAY CLASSES

THE ADVENTURES OF PAUL:
A TWO-THOUSAND-YEAR LEGACY

6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in M201 (Main level, Marsh Building)
January 24 thru February 7
All are welcome.
Led by Tessa

Join Tessa on Wednesday nights for a study of Paul’s life, focusing on his second missionary journey. Delve into the history and geography of the first century world where Paul traveled and taught. Learn the cultural relevance of Paul’s teachings, including such modern mysteries as his demand that women cover their hair, and men don’t. Gain a fresh understanding of the significance of the Bible for our lives today, and find a legacy of faith in Paul.

This original course is interactive in nature, and designed to teach the Bible to those who are not very familiar with it, while taking those who are knowledgeable students into deeper terrain. You will read Scripture, examine maps, and gain insight through discussion as well as short lectures by Tessa. You will need to bring a Bible. If you don’t have one, please let us know, and we would be happy to provide one for you.

We will be meeting from January 24 through February 7, from 6:30 to 8:00, in Room M201. To sign up, please contact Marilyn Danielson at 860.529.1575 x213.

It’s a confusing time, when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before. DivorceCare groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. Each session has two distinct elements: A seminar with experts and a support group with focus. Contact Caring Ministries, 860.529.1575, ext 210. Click here for more details.
