WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15 — All Family Ministry activities and most others (including Churchwide Prayer) are canceled this evening.
Fall Cycle — Meets Mondays — Will begin Sept. 19, 2016
The GriefShare video seminar series features some of the nation’s foremost Christian experts on grief and recovery topics as seen from a biblical perspective. Those who have been through it have said that being with others who also are grieving and understand what they are feeling is enormously helpful. Facilitated by Betty Metcalf, Jim Marquardt and Betty Sheehan, we meet for 13 Mondays in the Morgan House Drawing Room, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The only charge is $15.00, for the workbook. Scholarships are available. For more information, or to register, call Caring Ministries at 860.529.1575 x210.
The Stephen Ministry has been in existence since 1975. Stephen Ministers have provided Christian care to more than one million people in one-to-one Stephen Ministry relationships. Worldwide, over 500,000 people have been trained as Stephen Ministers. If you are in need of dedicated, Christ-centered, confidential care, or would like to find out about training to become a Stephen Minister, contact Caring Ministries at 860.529.1575 x210, or Wayne at x203.

The visitation ministry at First Church is a ministry that belongs to our entire church family. The Care Ministry has identified a number of presenting needs in our congregation and from that, there are a diverse group of ordinary people who are learning to respond to those needs in extraordinary ways. Some of the ministry's responses are making calls, writing cards, visiting the home-bound and those in assisted living facilities. We have others who do hospital visitation, and those who are equipped to walk along side people who are experiencing crisis.
Although we are not all gifted the same way, everyone can be involved. Part of our church-wide vision is that we love one another. One way we put feet to our love is in making sure we stay connected with those who can’t be with us and with those who are experiencing an illness. To discuss your passion and gifting and to learn how you can become a part of this outreach, please contact Caring Ministries at 860.529.1575 x210, or Wayne at x203.
