God has called our congregation to go out into nearby communities to be His hands and feet, to show His love to those who might not know Him or know how much He loves them. Let us answer His call by saying yes to Him and following His lead.

In the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke, Jesus teaches his followers to “Love Your Neighbor.” On Saturday, April 14, we are putting this command into action by offering a variety of opportunities to help out several local area ministries.
Below are some examples. Click on the ministries’ names to learn more about them.
DINNER (Walk-ins are welcome) — The Mission & Outreach Committee is offering a no-charge dinner at 6:00 p.m. that Saturday (April 14) in Keith Jones Hall, with baked Caribbean chicken, rice and beans, garden salad, and rolls (regular and gluten free). [Please sign up at church or call 860.529.1575 x213.] Following dinner will be our speakers, then desserts and coffee in the Wells Area, where our Missions tables will be set up. Our speakers are John Powers, who has led mission trips to the Dominican Republic since 1990, and a representative from ABC Women’s Center in Middletown.
Service and Lunch
Sunday, April 15• Worship Service(There will be only one service, at 10:00.)• Lunch following service
Our own Sam Hollings will give the message message during morning worship on Sunday, April 15. There will be only one service that day (10:00 a.m.).
Then, to close this year’s Missions Weekend, we are offering a light lunch in Keith Jones Hall, with speakers Dave Ambrose of Hartford City Mission and Russell Jarvis of Urban Alliance.
Dave Ambrose is the executive director of Hartford City Mission, which operates after-school and summer character-based programs for children and youth throughout North Hartford, while promoting the strength of North Hartford’s neighborhoods and encouraging people to actively join the process to build a vibrant community.
Russell Jarvis is the executive director of Urban Alliance, whose mission is to create opportunities for people to achieve lasting change in their lives through the collaborative work of churches and organizations in local communities.
