Chance to Help Celebrate a Big Birthday!

The First Church congregation will be 375 years old in 2010, an event that we will begin celebrating in September, 2009. Our theme for the festivities is Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). This will be a time to thank God for all that He has done for and through the First Church congregation and to ask Him to do still more. We can rejoice and, at the same time, familiarize ourselves and others with what First Church stands for, what it is doing and what it hopes, with God’s help, to accomplish in the future. We will be highlighting our Church’s past, present, future and its outreach.

A number of events are already being held including:

• Service for our town’s police, fire fighters & ambulance personnel
• Carillon concert
• Special sermon on Rally Sunday, followed by the church picnic
• Church float in the town parade
• A Jonathan Edwards Event featuring Frank Kirkpatrick
• A Church Social with Dinner
• A hymn Festival
• Time capsule
• Talent Show celebrating our diverse heritages
• Video presentation
• Spire Articles on the history of the church
• And much more.
