Wethersfield’s annual winter celebration is fast approaching! We are excited to connect and open wide the doors of First Church to our neighbors. This year, Holidays on Main will take place on Thursday, December 4th from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Come warm up and enjoy some free hot chocolate by the fire, or head inside and enjoy some fun craft making, tours of the Meetinghouse, and a wonderful Christmas tree display decorated by families from our Church Preschool. Christmas Card Craft Night

First Church Women will be hosting a Christmas Card Craft Night on the evening of Friday, December 5th in the Wells Fellowship Area from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. Come join us for an evening of fun, food, faith, and fellowship! We will have everything you need to be successful creating simple and beautiful Christmas Cards for yourself and for Caring Ministries. Christmas Pageant

It's that time of year again! This year's Christmas Pageant will be held on Sunday, December 7th at 3:00 PM in the Meetinghouse. Sign your child up or volunteer yourself to help bring this great Christian story to life! We will have one practice on Sunday, November 23rd from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM. This rehearsal will begin in the Fireside Room with Pizza and Costumes. We will then move up to The Meetinghouse to rehearse the pageant. Participants are asked to be at church by 2:00p PM on Sunday, December 7th for a final run-through and costuming. All in attendance and/or participating are invited to bring a dozen cookies to share for the Cookie & Cocoa Reception. Click the link below to sign up!
Kids Drop-Off Christmas Movie Afternoon
Saturday, December 13th | 3:30-6:30 PM
On Saturday, December 13th from 3:30-6:30 PM, we will be hosting a Drop Off Movie Afternoon! Have a fun afternoon to yourself to shop, prep or simply relax and leave the childcare to us! We will complete a craft, enjoy a pizza dinner together and watch a fun Christmas Movie (Rated PG). This is open to children ages 3+. The cost is $20 for your first child and $10 for each additional child, per family. Festival of Lessons and Carols

The First Church Choir will present a Festival of Lessons and Carols on Sunday, December 21st at 4:00 PM, the opening event for our 2025-2026 Meetinghouse Concert Series. The Festival is a traditional holiday program of beloved carols and sacred readings telling the story of the Nativity which has been performed at the chapel of King’s College, Cambridge in England since the early 20th century. The program tells the story from the Garden of Eden, where Adam and Eve disobey God, up to the birth of Christ the Messiah at Christmas. The service typically includes the haunting carol, “Once in Royal David’s City.”
As always, admission to the concert is free, with a donation accepted at intermission. Come bring in the spirit of Christmas for you and your family, joining with the choir to sing many of your favorite carols!
